Blind Tasting Bottle Covers

Made them from stylish navy cotton twill with a matching grosgrain ribbon and velcro fastening.  At the bottom of every cover is a waterproof lining in case of spills or condensation.  Handprinted in gold and numbered from one to six.

 Why do a Blind Tasting

Do you begin to decide on how you are going to rate a wine the minute you see the label?  As you look at the label you get a lot of information.  Firstly, you see the domaine or maker, the year and level of alcohol.  Then you can discover the country of origin and maybe the grape variety.  As well as giving information about the wine the design of the label might also be giving us ideas about whether this wine will appeal.   The minute the label is covered all that information is gone and you are just left with the wine in the glass.  This is key to a blind tasting.   Bias is eliminated.  You will be free to focus on the wine.  Take your time.  Concentrate on the appearance, the aroma and finally the flavours.
